The province has expanded its Disaster Recovery Assistance Program in Chatham-Kent.
It applies to residents affected by flooding in February 2018.
Originally, the program was activated for certain areas of Chatham and Thamesville to help homeowners, tenants, small businesses, farms and not-for-profit organizations recover some of the losses for essential items such as a furnace or hot water tank.
Since then, the province learned that additional properties were impacted by the same flood so the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing has expanded the area.
Residents in the expanded area must submit an application for help by October 15, 2018.
The program does not cover all costs.
Back in February, the municipality declared a state of emergency due to the flooding along the Thames River.
A voluntary evacuation order was also placed for Thamesville as half a meter of water had been anticipated.
