Spitfires goalie Michael DiPietro stood on his head in a 3-2 shootout loss to the Saginaw Spirit Sunday at the WFCU Centre.
Windsor's Mathew MacDougall opened the scoring at the end of the first to put Windsor up 1-0.
It was all Saginaw in the second with goals from, Cole Coskey and Jake Goldowski to pull the Spirit ahead 2-1 heading into the third.
Windsor hung around until Luke Boka tied things up mid-way through the final frame.
Overtime decided nothing — Coskey put the game away with the lone goal in the shootout and Spirit goalie Evan Cormier turned away all three Windsor shooters.
DiPietro stopped 46 of the 48 shots he faced for Windsor to grab the first star in a losing effort.
The Spits face-off against the London Knights at the WFCU Centre at 7:05pm Thursday.
