The Windsor Spitfires leaned on goaltender Michael DiPietro and the penalty kill to see off the London Knights.
The Spitfires hit the ice at London's Budweiser Gardens on Friday and left with a 5-2 win.
DiPietro made 30 saves in backstopping the Spitfires to the win, helping to shutdown six power plays for the Knights — including a string of minor penalties in the 3rd period.
Tyler Angle, Chris Playfair, Igor Larionov Jr., Cole Purboo and captain Aaron Luchuk had the goals for the Spitfires. Windsor defencemen Austin McEneny also pitched in with two assists.
DiPietro was named the game's first star while Spitfires winger Kirill Kozhevnikov was named the game's third star after finishing with an assist, three shots and a +1.
The Windsor Spitfires are back at the WFCU Centre on Sunday for a 2:05pm face-off against the Guelph Storm.
