Fresh back from the I.I.H..F 2018 World Hockey Championship, Windsor Spitfires Goalie Mike DiPietro says it was an amazing experience.
He was included on the Canadian team as the 3rd backup, but didn't get to play in a game.
DiPietro says getting game experience was never the plan.
He says being on ice with the players on Team Canada gave him insight on how to become an NHLer.
"The way they handle themselves and handle each day is really something that was nice to see. And to really see their habits, how well they take care of their bodies and just to really put things in perspective on you know how they break down each game"
DiPietro says this gave him even more insight than the Vancouver camps he's been at.
DiPietro plans to be the Spitfires goalie for the coming season and believes the young team will be even better.
He says he took a week off after the OHL season ended for him and is back in full-time training mode.
