Michael DiPietro made 36 saves in regulation and overtime and stopped all four shooters in the shootout as the Spitfires beat the Kitchener Rangers 3-2 Thursday night before a crowd of 4,838 at the WFCU Centre.
Logan Stanley and Aaron Luchuk scored in regulation for Windsor, and Gabe Vilardi was the only shooter to score in the shootout.
Connor Bunnaman scored both goals for the Rangers, who outshot the Spitfires 38-20.
Newly acquired Jeremy Bracco was not expected to play but made his Spitfire debut against his former team. He registered an assist.
Windsor hits the road Friday night to face the Sarnia Sting.
