Amherstburg's Deputy Mayor is not seeking re-election.
"It's been a good job," says Bart DiPasquale. "I've been proud to serve the people in Amherstburg."
The 64-year-old has been on council for two terms, one as a councillor and one as the deputy mayor.
Prior to his role on council, DiPasquale was a member of Amherstburg police for 35-years.
"We talked about it as a family and wife and daughters and they all thought it was probably the best thing for me and I agree," says DiPasquale.
He adds, he will not endorse any candidates.
"I'm not going to support anybody in particular because to me they're all the same," says DiPasquale. "They're all decent people and gets going to be up to the people that are looking at them and when they give their speeches, that's what I had to do, I didn't have anybody spoon feeding me so they got to learn how to do it too."
Current town councillor Leo Meloche is seeking the deputy mayor's seat as well as Bob Rozankovic.
