Mayor Drew Dilkens is seeking re-election.
He filed his nomination papers just after 10 Tuesday morning.
Dilkens was first elected as mayor in 2014 after defeating 11 other candidates including John Millson and Larry Horwitz.
During his media scrum, he stated he has no regrets with his first term in office.
Dilkens told the media he believes he has a proven track record.
"We presented the plan and the plan is the one I implemented," says Dilkens. "So when the public goes back and they say what was Drew all about and what did he do, did he follow his commitments and I think I'm going to pull that plan out and say he's what I said I was going to do and here's what I did and the goal is it matches up very very well."
He highlighted the city's unemployment rate drop, record investments in roads and sewers, a drop in social service case loads and an increase in building permits.

Dilkens says one of his competitor's worked in the mayor's office in the 1990's and the city can't go backwards.
"I think if I look at my competitor and I'm looking at what my competitor is talking about in this campaign, we can't afford to go back to the 1990's when the city was increasing debt, when the city was using their credit card to finance operations," says Dilkens. "I look forward to talking about how we've turned this city around and how we're going to continue to move this city forward and build on success."
Dilkens was previously the ward one councillor. He was first elected as councillor in 2006.
Matt Marchand, Ernie Lamont, Frank Dyck and Tom Hensel have already filed their nomination papers for the city's top job.
