Mayor Drew Dilkens is back home after a trip to Ottawa for this year's 'Big City Mayors Meeting'.
Dilkens says several issues were on the agenda. "When we're talking to politicians at the federal level, we really agree collectively to things that impact all our cities. So this time we talked about the fentanyl opiate crisis we see emerging across Canada, we talked about social housing and the need each of us have in our communities, for more funding to do with social housing matter we have in this community as well, and of course infrastructure in general."
Dilkens also had a chance to talk with Prime Minister Trudeau about the importance of an efficient border crossing and concerns over plans by U.S. President Donald Trump to renegotiate the North American Free Trade Agreement.
He says Trudeau vowed make sure the interests Canada and of Windsor are represented in any future talks on NAFTA.
