A Devonshire Mall retailer says the mood inside the mall is different but is pleased with the reopening weekend.
Ayad Saddy is co-owner of BB Branded Boutique and his store reopened on Thursday after the province gave the green light for parts of Windsor-Essex to enter in stage two of the province's recovery plan.
"You walk around and you see a lot of stores, you don't know what's closed for good and you don't know what's just preparing to open, so that's what's happening right now," says Saddy.
He says from what he saw, shoppers followed the safety measures that were put in place by the mall and retailers.
"It seemed like a lot of people didn't know that the mall was open until pretty much the weekend but gradually grew day by day," says Saddy. "We're pretty pleased."
Saddy says shoppers were also following the mandatory face covering order issued by the local health unit last week.
He says his store installed sneeze guards and has a lot of disinfectant items on hand.
