So far so good at Devonshire Mall.
Mall General Manager Chris Savard says the $70-million re-development and renovation project is moving along.
He says crews continue to work on the Metro grocery store and within the next few weeks, work will begin to update current spaces and equipment in the mall.
Savard says along with Metro, a new Shoppers Drug Mart Store will anchor the space where the former Target use to be.
He says mall officials are in talks with other retailers.
"These things take time to make sure they're well thought out, they're well planned. The lease negotiations obviously don't happen over night. So yes, there is a buzz and we're certainly excited to get going and this week we made some progress on moving that project forward."
Savard says it's an exciting time at the mall.
"Obviously a Metro and a brand new Shoppers, they'll both be state-of-the-art flag ship buildings. There's room in that new development area on that side for a handful of new retailers as well."
Metro is expected to open later this spring or early summer.
The project also includes a new food court along with additional retail spaces.
The work will be done in phases with an end date in either 2018 or 2019.
