The Devils raced out to a 3-0 lead midway through the first period and cruised to a 5-2 win over the Rangers at the Prudential Center in New Jersey.
Taylor Hall and Will Butcher each had two goals for New Jersey, which won its third straight.
Hall scored one of his goals on a penalty shot as the former Spitfire also collected two assists. Hall is now sixth in league scoring with 39 goals and 93 points in just 75 games.
The Devils have won six-of-seven overall and hold the top wild card in the East with 95 points, one ahead of the Flyers with two games left.
Ryan Spooner and Kevin Hayes had goals for the Rangers, who gave up three power-play goals in defeat. New York has lost seven of its last nine games.
