DEVELOPING STORY Rescue Efforts Underway In Thailand

AM800-News-Thailand-Cave-Rescue-1.4040313 CHIANG RAI, THAILAND - JUNE 28: Thai officers supervise the rescue mission inside Tham Luang Nang Non cave on June 28, 2018 in Chiang Rai, Thailand. Rescuers battle heavy rain in northern Thailand as they continued the search for 12 boys and their soccer coach who has been missing in Tham Luang Nang Non cave since Saturday night after monsoon rains blocked the main entrance. Teams of Navy SEAL divers worked their way through submerged passageways in the sprawling underground caverns as senior Thai government officials warned on Wednesday that time is running out and the search intensifies for the young soccer team, aged between 11 to 16, and their 25-year-old coach, with soldiers and park rangers seeking other entry points into the cave system. Phase two of the rescue effort is underway to free a group of boys trapped in a flooded cave

Authorities in Thailand say they have resumed operations to rescue members of a boys' soccer team trapped in a flooded cave.

Rescuers successfully freed four boys on Sunday.

They said the four boys already rescued are hungry but in good health in a hospital.

The remaining boys are still inside the cave and along with the team coach.

The operation to get them out was supposed to resume only after new oxygen tanks could be placed along their route of escape, which is partially underwater.
