Another new subdivision is coming to the Town of Lakeshore.
On Tuesday, after close to an hour and a half discussion, council voted in favour of the development and approved a zoning amendment to allow semis and townhouses.
The subdivision backs on to Russell Woods and is located on the south side of Old Tecumseh Rd, east of Flanders Rd. and west of Jordan Ln.
It's expected to include 12 townhomes, 30 semis and 13 single detached homes.
Mayor Tom Bain says Lakeshore continues to grow.
"This is just one of several that we got coming up this spring," says Bain. "So to see these 55 go and to know that it's going to meet a new need that's out there. It's a new need."

Bain adds he understands residents are worried about flooding in the area.
"This example here is one where essentially, this subdivision wasn't going to have a retention pond and that's something we've added to it to help to elevate that flooding problem," says Bain.
There were some other concerns from residents including increased traffic, property values decreasing and sidewalks.
Councillors Steven Wilder and John Kerr opposed the project.
The developer plans to have a shovel in the ground this spring.
In 2018, Lakeshore issued a total of 973 building permits. 241 of those were for new dwellings.
