The border crossing is normally closed during the evening hours
The Detroit-Windsor Tunnel will remain open 24-hours a day for the next few days for the U.S Thanksgiving.
Ceiling improvements have been taking place over the past year resulting in the tunnel being closed from 8pm until 5:30am Sunday through Thursday.
It will stay open through Sunday to accommodate holiday travellers.
The $22-million tunnel ceiling project was scheduled to be completed by mid-June but the work was extended to the end of October. The project is now expected to be completed by the end of the year.
