Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit is looking for Canadian nurses.
Chief Nursing Officer and Vice-President of Nursing Care Services, Gwen Gnam says there's currently a shortage of nurses in the metro Detroit area.
She says they're hoping to entice some experienced caregivers to make the trip across the border for work.
A job fair will take place Wednesday at the Caboto Club from 8am to 4pm.
Gnam says, if hired, nurses will receive plenty of extra training.
"We do, of course, provide orientation for all nurses. It depends on their experience level, but it generally is 10 to 15 weeks, just depending on their background and what area of specialization that they're going into," she says.

Gnam says about 30% of the nurses already working at the hospital are Canadian.
"We have had great success with our Canadian nurses, but we have a demand that exceeds our resources in the metropolitan Detroit area. There's a lot of hospitals. We've experienced a good deal of growth in the last few years requiring more nurses," she says.
Gnam says jobs are available in several departments at the hospital.
"If they can bring several copies of their resume that would be excellent. We have always had an active hiring status with Canada, but we wanted to come over and do a job fair to try to add some additional staff to our ever growing hospital," she adds.
Staff will be on hand at today's job fair to help prospective employees with the various documents and certifications needed to work stateside.
