Design plans have been unveiled for an historic building in olde Walkerville.
The group "Walker Power Building" purchased the old Walker Power Building in 2016 off Riverside Dr and Devonshire Rd.
The group planned to redevelop the property and convert it into what it refers to as "a modern day showpiece."
The design plans unveiled show a restaurant, local market and a coffee shop on the main floor.
Ward 4 City Councillor Chris Holt loves what he sees in the plans.
"You try to move into Walkerville which is arguably one of the hottest neighbourhoods in the entire city right now, you can't find retail space," says Holt.
"Seeing the inventory of retail space increase in an incredibly cool building, in an historic building is great. It is going to add further amenities to the neighbourhood, and drive more foot traffic to the existing businesses."
He says keeping the historic footprint of the building is a complicated process.
"It is going to be a little while but it is going to be worth the wait."
The Walker Power Building was developed by the sons of Hiram Walker under the Walker Sons firm name between 1910 and 1913.
