A number of dead geese on Hwy. 401 near the Dougall Ave. overpass in Windsor is generating a lot of attention online.
A Facebook post on Sunday afternoon around 5pm from Windsor's Jonathan McIlvride shows a group of geese squished and torn a part on the highway.
The post has been shared more than 3,100 times.
As heard on CTV Windsor, McIlvride says he saw the geese and felt he had to act.
"I put on my safety vest and my gloves, I went out there and I start removing them from the road," says McIlvride. "In the end I count about 10 that were killed, who knows how many were actually there?"
McIlvride feels the geese were purposely hit.
"This is a large number of geese all hit in one laneway, I mean the rest of the road was clear, so it's obvious they were all in that single lane when somebody ran them over," he says.

Danny D'Angela is an instructor with Street Smarts Driving Education in Windsor.
He says unfortunately sometimes the safest thing to do is to keep on going.
"The drivers that hit the geese did the right thing — they continued on."
D'Angela says swerving on a highway is not a great idea.
"Last thing you would want to do is stop when you have vehicles coming up behind you at 100km/h and even more where you stop and they don't — it's going to create a disaster."
