The defence is expected to begin its case Tuesday at the second-degree murder trial of a Windsor man.
John Wayne Pierre is charged in the violent stabbing death of his ex-girlfriend, Lesley Watterworth in November 2016.

The Crown's final witness Monday -- an expert from the Centre for Forensic Sciences -- testified that blood taken from Pierre's overalls and from a knife and a knife tip found at the Curry Ave. apartment was Watterworth's.
Renata Dziak also told court there was a high probability that samples taken from under Watterworth's fingernails, and on a chewed note, belonged to Pierre.
