Windsor police are reporting a jump in crime stats for 2017.
Superintendent Pam Mizuno says crime stats were up 8% compared to 2016.
She says the biggest jump is in property crime.
"Our violent crimes against persons decreased but property crimes went up approximately 10%," says Mizuno.
She believes there could be many different factors for the increase in property crimes.
"It coincides with the street check legislation as well as there's the opioid issues within the community whether that's a causal factor or just coincides is to be determined," Mizuno adds.
There were more than 15,000 crime stats reported in 2017.
