A 38-year-old Windsor man is charged after a crime spree in Essex County.
OPP were called to a crash on County Rd. 20 near Roseborough Rd. in Harrow just before 8:30am on Thursday, where according to police, one of the vehicles involved was stolen and possibly involved in other criminal incidents earlier that morning.
Witnesses told police that the driver involved fled the scene on foot and stole a vehicle from a man who had stopped to assist with the crash.
Around 9:15am, the suspect and vehicle were seen getting on the eastbound Highway 401 at Manning Road — travelling on three tires and one rim.
Officers followed the suspect until leaving the highway and he was stopped on County Road 46 in the Town of Lakeshore where police say he intentionally struck a police cruiser before getting out of the vehicle and fleeing on foot.
After a short foot pursuit, the accused was arrested and taken into custody and charged with multiple offences such as robbery, flight from police and uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm.
