The county credit rating has been increased by SP
The County of Essex has been given an 'AA' credit rating by Standard and Poors.
Warden Tom Bain says "the rating sends a positive message to the rest of the world. This is the kind of thing that attracts businesses, that brings business into Essex County. This is the kind of thing that seniors say hey that's where I want to retire, where young couples want to raise their families, where things are prosperous."
Bain says the county has had a 'AA' rating, off and on, since the 1990's.
