An incident at the University of Windsor has officials at the school and the Odette School of Business encouraging students to contact Student Counselling Services, if they need help.
A 34-year-old woman was rushed to Windsor Regional Hospital Tuesday just after noon with what police described as 'serious injuries.'
University spokesperson John Coleman says the matter is in the hands of police but adds some classes may need to be cancelled today. "There's no expectation at this point that there will be classes not held but we just want to remind everybody that it might be a good idea, just because everything that's been going on, just to check and see if anything has been cancelled."
Coleman also wants students to know that counselling services are available. "As a reminder to people if there is some issue or anything that they feel that they need to address that there are services available to them. They're available any time and not just in this instance but anything that happens at the university."
Students are being asked to check their blackboard sites for any notices on classes.
A post on the Odette School of Business Facebook page on Tuesday evening, notifies students that "unless you hear otherwise, classes, exams and assignments will proceed as scheduled."
The Windsor Police Major Crimes Branch is investigating the incident.
A 46-year-old male also suffered minor injuries.
Police say the victim and the man are known to each other and stress there is no threat to public safety.
