It's not the way a Cottam business owner wanted to end 2016.
John Ivanisko is the owner of Cottam Cold Storage.
He says he arrived at his family-run business on County Road 34 just after eight Friday morning and discovered the store was broken into.
He says a large quantity of beef, pork and kielbasa was taken.
Ivanisko says something didn't seem right when he pulled up to the shop.
"I noticed when we came into work this morning here, there was an odd track going through the yard and then noticed the back door was open and so I came in the shop and went in through my cooler and the cooler back door was open and there was product out, in a couple back rooms that shouldn't have been," says Ivanisko.
Ivanisko says the value of the stolen meat is about $6000.
He has contacted the OPP and is asking anyone with information to call police.
