A military corporal, who rushed to the aid of a shooting victim in downtown Windsor, doesn't regret getting involved and is encouraging others to do the same.
Corporal Brendon James Liddy was in downtown Windsor early Friday, October 5, when a shooting took place at Maiden Lane and Ouellette Avenue.
He tweeted out; "outside for a cigarette and shots rang out. Man shot 3 times right in front of me. #FirstAid. Apply pressure to the chest wound, #tourniquet on the arm wound. Blood. I'm still spinning."
"Sometimes you just have to do those things," he says.
Speaking on AM800's the Lynn Martin Show, Corporal Liddy admits it was a traumatic and emotional event to experience.
But he says the best thing to do is to talk about it instead of internalizing it.
"Bit of a shock but I didn't really feel any of that at the time, it more or less started coming into light for me yesterday when I thought wow that really happened," he says. "After the adrenaline sort of left my body, there was definitely some emotional moments because the people I was with after the fact, were also around and in the crowd and they knew the victim."
The victim, a man in his 20s, was rushed to the hospital with critical injuries.
No arrests have been made.

Downtown to see my friends who were holding a network party. Outside for a cigarette and shots rang out. Man shot 3 times right in front of me. #FirstAid. Apply pressure to the chest wound, #tourniquet on the arm wound. Blood. I'm still spinning. pic.twitter.com/LHRKzF1YJd
