The 2018 edition of the Tecumseh Corn Festival maybe moved to another weekend.
Last night, council gave the go ahead for the event to be held a week earlier in 2018.
The reason, the town and the Tecumseh Thunder baseball team have submitted a bid to host the national championship at Lacasse Park.
Councillor Andrew Dowie says if the bid is successful, it would fall on the same weekend the Corn Festival is usually held.
"It will be 2018 if we are awarded the event so we'd have one year to go where things are as they are and then the 2018 Corn Fest, it would only be for that year, it would be moved for that year," says Dowie.
The Corn Festival is usually held the last weekend in August but with the proposed change in 2018, it would be held the third weekend of the month.
