Construction is underway on a new business in Essex.
A groundbreaking ceremony took place January 14 to begin work on the new home for SouthPoint Equipment, located on Highway 3.
The 10,000 square foot commercial building will serve the entire county in selling Kubota products for turf, farm, residential, commercial turf and snow and construction sectors.
Eight full-time employees will be hired initially which will eventually grow to 12, along with part-time and seasonal workers.
"Essex is centrally located and positioned well to serve the entire county," says SouthPoint Equipment Owner David Ross. "The location, which was zoned and partially serviced, will help us balance the need to service the city of Windsor with the rural communities of Essex County."
