Habitat for Humanity Windsor-Essex is building again, but this time for a different reason.
It has broken ground on construction of a new ReStore on Edinborough, behind Teppermans, that will be one of the largest ReStores in Canada.
Its current location on Devon Dr. is bursting at the seams.
The new location will be 22,000 sq. ft. and will include more retail space, a training space, a loading dock and a covered donation bay.
The ReStore offers shoppers new and used building supplies, furniture and appliances.
Habitat for Humanity Windsor-Essex Executive Director Fiona Coughlin says this didn't happen by accident.
"Our builds don't happen without the Restore," she says. "The community support of our little Restore, we call it the little store that could, the community support of that store has put us in the position of being able to build this new store."
Despite its cramped quarters, the current location on Devon Dr. set a record last year and recorded more than $1-million in gross sales which is used to help build homes.
"They [customers] track us down and once they track us down, they keep coming back," joked Coughlin.

Angie Pare has volunteered at Habitat for Humanity since 1994 and can't wait for the new store to open.
"Certainly it is going to be more convenient," she says. "Climate controlled which is very good. It is usually a little cool in the winter and a little hot in the summer, so that is one of the nicest things about it."
The new store should open in the spring 2019.
Habitat for Humanity Windsor-Essex has built 63 homes for families in need.
