A new addition at the Connections Early Years Family Centre in Windsor.
The site on Giles Blvd. E. near Parent Ave. has unveiled its new fully accessible kitchen on Wednesday.
Centre Chair, Dr. Krista Loughead says the renovations to the 50-year-old kitchen are part of the centre's Building Up campaign and were made possible thanks to a $117,000 grant from the Ontario Trillium Fund.
Loughead says the kitchen renovations were 10-years in the making and will help the centre, which receives 18,000 visits per year from area families.
"I think it remains us of how much impact we are going to have on the community, so meaning that we'll be able to provide food security for many families in our community, nutritional programming," she says.
Dr. Loughead says the centre supports families with young children up to six-years-old.
She says a number of services are provided including pre-school, speech and language programs along with hearing impairments for infants and early education programs.
