The City of Windsor and Concession Group Canada Inc have re-worked their partnership agreement.
Late last year, CGC owner Rico Razaiy asked the city to renegotiate his five year contract.
He was looking for a drop in rent due to a drop in foot traffic and revenue.
After meeting with city staff, Razaiy reached a new agreement that was recently approved by council.
His new payment plan for city arenas including Adie Knox, WFCU, South Windsor and Forest Glade goes from $35,000 per year to $20,000 and for Adventure Bay, it drops from $45,000 per year to $16,000.
Razaiy says it's been a tough year and a half.
"It was, but we go through it and we look forward to working with the city together. I appreciate the mayor and all the councillors that came up with the decision."
He says he will work closer with user groups.
"With the hockey groups and with the city, with the management that we're going to work closely and to serve a lot better than it was before."
Razaiy says he has 26 employees and he didn't want any of them to lose their jobs.
"It's more about the employees. They are like a family. I didn't want to lose them and they didn't want to lose their jobs. So it's good for them."
CGC has operated the concessions at city arenas since June 2016 and at Adventure Bay since June 2017.
There is an option in the new contract to renew for an additional five years.
The current deal expires in 2021.
