An Essex town councillor is encouraging residents to use the newly saved concession stand at Harrow Arena.
On Monday, town council voted to keep it open for another two years, at a reduced rate to the operator.
Administration had informed council the stand would no longer be operated by an outside vendor but both sides came up with a new deal to keep it open and council approved it.
Councillor Sherry Bondy says the onus now shifts to the public so that if they want to keep it open, they need to use it to keep in viable.
"I think the people in Harrow are happy that they are going to see, go to the arena and still going to continue to be a full service arena."
Bondy adds common sense prevailed.
"I wasn't worried going into the vote because council does see that there is value in having that, right," says Bondy. "We want our user groups to be able to have anything that they want when they go there."
The discounted rate is $900 per year.
