A community garden in the downtown core could be on the move.
On Monday night, the Downtown Windsor Community Collaborative (DWCC) will ask city council to re-locate the community garden from Bruce Ave. to Caron Ave. on the corner of Elliot St.
Executive Director Bob Cameron says upgrades are being done to the park on Bruce Ave. which is why the garden will have to shift to another location.
He say the park on Caron Avenue is only a couple blocks away and makes the most sense to re-locate there, adding "the garden is probably going to be about the same size but room for growth and room for other creative projects that fit with gardening that we're just formulating now."

Cameron says there is an incredible community that gardens at the park and is confident council will approve the relocation.
"Most of them are new Canadians who come with a rich tradition of agriculture and gardening and they love the space and they were thrilled moving to a space a couple blocks away but giving them greater control or participation in the shaping of it," he says.
The DWCC looks after three other community gardens in the downtown core and the cost to maintain all the parks is about $10,000 a year — the city donates the space, provides a permit and installs some of the infrastructure.
