A large turnout outside the Faculty of Law building at the University of Windsor to remember those who were killed in last week's terrorist attack in New Zealand.
On Tuesday, an estimated 500 people attended the candlelight vigil organized by the Muslim Law Association.
The vigil attracted people of all faiths and religions.
They heard from a handful of speakers, took part in prayer and a moment of silence.
Mariam Jammal is a law student and helped organize the event.
"It's important for people to get together and process and grieve and stand together as community," says Jammal. "I think it's also important to recognize hateful rhetoric This is islamophobia that's on the rise globally. "It has a real effect, it's just not people talking or people saying things, it's leading to violence."

She says it's been a tough few days.
"It's just the magnitude of what happened, the magnitude of the lives lost," says Jammal. "The details of the attack that happened have really shaken everyone to the core."
Last Friday, a gunman opened fire at two mosques in Christchurch killing 50 people and injuring others.
