The mayor of Tecumseh is applauding a House of Commons committee recommendation to re-instate door-to-door mail delivery.
Gary McNamara says the report helps underline what he and the community already knew, that mail delivery is an essential service that should not be taken away. "Look at the mess that some of our seniors are faced with today. They can't even get to their boxes to start with. So I'm glad they took a lot of our impact on our statement, in particular on the safety of the community, in particular for the most vulnerable in society, our seniors and our disabled."
The report comes after public consultations that were held across the country on the future of Canada Post.
McNamara is among those to make a presentation.
