The 5th annual Colour Run returns to Windsor's riverfront this weekend.
Known as the "happiest 5K on the planet," the fun run is set to take place along the riverfront and Riverside Drive Saturday morning.
Race Director Chris Uszynski says more than 4'000 people are expected to take part.
"There's also some changes to this year's race," says Uszynski. "We've added two more Colour Zones along the way and we've also added a Foam Zone to the excitement. There's a bunch of new stuff that we're doing at Colour Run, that those who've done Colour Run every year will notice in a heartbeat."
Uszynski says last year's event was held at night but this year it's back to the daytime. "This way people can also bring all the little kids along. That was a big compliant when you're starting a race in the dark, 9:30-10 o'clock, you can't bring the little kids along. So this year we're back to being a great big family event."
The event begins at 9am.
Following the run, there is a dance/colour party at the Riverfront Festival Plaza.
A portion of the proceeds will support the Alzheimer’s Society of Windsor-Essex County.
