Colorado Clips Wings In Overtime

Nathan MacKinnons overtime goal lifts Colorado past the Red Wings at LCA

Nathan MacKinnon scored the game winner two-minutes-and-55-seconds into overtime to lift the Avalanche past the Red Wings 4-3 in Detroit.

MacKinnon assisted on Carl Soderberg's game-tying goal with 46-seconds left in regulation.

Nail Yakupov and Erik Johnson also found the back of the net in the winning effort.

Jonathan Bernier made 21 saves as the Avs won for just the second time in their last six games.  

Justin Abdelkader,  Andreas Athanasiou, and Niklas Kronwall tallied the Red Wings' goals.

Detroit has earned at least a point in eight of it last 10 outings.  

The Wings close out a five-game homestand Wednesday against the Oilers.
