A 44-week aircraft maintenance and repair program at St. Clair College is being declared a success.
The 20 graduates all have full-time jobs at Premier Aviation at the Windsor Airport.
The course has ended and College President Patty France says there are no current plans to continue. "Certainly in the very beginning indicated that they would need ongoing training and ongoing intakes. But, again, we said let's walk before we run. Let's do this intake and do it well and make sure that the training and the outcomes for that training meet all the requirements for Premier, then we would go from there.
Most of the $440,000 cost of the program was funded through a Canada-Ontario job grant.
The rest was picked up by the college and Premier Aviation.
