The Windsor Clippers played host to rival Wallaceburg Red Devils and came away with a 13-12 victory.
The Clippers scored the winning goal with just 15 seconds remaining in the game on an empty net after the Red Devils rolled the dice and pulled their goaltender for an extra attacker playing for the last shot. The shot was blocked by Alex Mayhead, who picked it up and ran the length of the floor and deposited the winning goal into a gaping net.
Wallaceburg scored four goals to open the thirds period, including two power play goals. The Clippers got one back on the power play to close within one goal with just 3:59 remaining in regulation.
Dylan Riley scored the tying goal with 2: 42 to play to set up the dramatic goal by Alex Mayhead for the win.
Last night's win improves the Clippers to 3-1-1 on the season. Next up for the Clippers is a Thursday night home game against the London Blue Devils.
