The Windsor Clippers dropped a 9-5 decision to the Orangeville Northmen last night. The loss puts the Clippers in a deep hole, down 2-0 in the best of five semi-final, and facing elimination on Thursday night in Orangeville.
The Northmen showed just exactly why they are the defending champions, capitalizing on Clippers mistakes and owning the loose ball war all night long. The Clippers were out shot 51-35.
The Clippers offense was shared by five different players. Noah Bushnell, Andrew Garant, Jake Rosa, James Morgan and Dylan Riley each scored for the Clippers. Joel Evans took the loss in goal for the Clippers, giving up 9 goals on 43 shots. Liam Tomes played the final 10 minutes for the Clippers making saves on all 8 shots he faced.
The Clippers will head back to Orangeville on Thursday night and try to force a game four back in Windsor on Sunday afternoon at 5:00pm.
