Jose Ramirez hit the go-ahead home run in the sixth inning as the Clevleand Indians doubled up the Detroit Tigers 6-3 at Progressive Field.
Jordan Luplow also went yard for the Indians. Trevor Bauer allowed three runs over six-and-two-thirds innings, striking out 10 for the win.
Cleveland has won 11 of its last 13 MLB games. Niko Goodrum and Harold Castro homered for Detroit in defeat.
Matthew Boyd struck out eight over six innings, but gave up five runs and took the loss for the Tigers, who have dropped 24 of their last 28 games.
In other MLB action on Thursday, the Toronto Blue Jays lost 5-0 to the Boston Red Sox.
The Tigers open a five-game homestand Friday night as the Blue Jays visit Comerica Park.
Jordan Zimmerman is scheduled to start for Detroit in the opener opposite Toronto's Marcus Stroman.
