There was a call to ban smoking at city hall

Windsor is leaving its 'smoke-free' bylaw alone.

Councillor Hilary Payne wanted it amended to include no smoking at city hall, city buildings without public access and the city bus terminal. "I received a lot of calls, a lot of emails basically saying that those loopholes should be closed and that's mainly why I did it."

The bylaw does ban smoking at all city owned parks, beaches, community centres and recreational facilities.

The city first adopted its smoke-free bylaw in 2006.
