The City of Windsor won't be booking any new events at the Caboto Club until direction is given by council.
CAO Onorio Colucci tells AM800 News, the issue over the all-male board policy at the club has forced the city to re-evaluate where it will book future events.
This comes on the heels of a similar declaration by Windsor-Essex Regional Chamber of Commerce President Matt Marchand. He took to social media Friday to declare the chamber will break ties with the club should it not amend its policies.
Colucci says anything already booked will go on as planned pending direction from council.
"Pending council giving us formal direction at a council meeting, we will not book any new events at the club given the news that's come out lately," he says. "We will honour any commitments we had made both for the sake of ourselves and the club."
Colucci says the public had some influence on the decision, but at the end of the day, administration was behind the move.
"There's been some sporadic contact from the public relative to the issue, but not extensively," says Colucci.
Historically the city has booked the Caboto Club for municipal elections, Colucci says where this year's election will be held is now in question.
