It is road work season, construction zones have sprung up through Windsor-Essex.
In the city, commuters need to get ready for slowdowns and detours.
Phong Nguy is the Manager of Operations for the City of Windsor's Public Works. He says the city plans to do a major project on the EC Row Expwy. later in the summer.
"We'd like to do some reconstruction between Howard Ave. and Dominion Blvd., it's showing real bad signs right now of pavement failure so we are going to do some work there just to bring the pavement to a safety level," says Nguy.
He reminds people to respect the orange barrels.
"Especially a lot of detours so just be very cautious with detours because we do have a lot of projects out there," he says.
Area drivers can also expect extended dealys on Francosi Rd. as the roadway from Seminole St. to CN Rail and on Franklin St. from Francois Rd. to Bernard Rd. sees sewer, watermain and road reconstruction beginning in June and expected to wrap in September.
