Ouellette Ave. is on the agenda tomorrow night at Windsor city council.
Council will be discussing road improvements on Ouellette from Elliott to Wyandotte Street.
City Engineer Mark Winterton says administration is recommending the $5.6 million project. He says the project is entering its sixth phase and is a continuation of the Ouellette Avenue road improvements.
Winterton says city staff has been working with the Downtown BIA and business owners on the project — which is a complete rebuild of the area.
"You're going to have new sidewalks, new road, centre islands, landscaping and other planting features so it's going to be a significant improvements similar to what was further to the north all of the other elements," says Winterton.

He says the public will experience some short term pain for long term gains.
"Anytime you have construction there's going to be some dust and some terrible in terms of traffic but we think ultimately the end product will be worth the pain during the construction period. We are going to go over a two year period," says Winterton.
If approved, construction is expected to start in the fall and will take two years to complete.
