The City of Windsor is looking for public feedback.
The city has launched its Celestial Beacon-Streetcar Project survey.
Mayor Drew Dilkens says the project is part of the city's Central Riverfront Implementation Plan.
He says the Celestial Beacon project is close to Assumption Park near the foot of Askin Avenue.
Dilkens says the plan was first approved by council in 2000.
"This will be the third of five destinations along Windsor's shoreline of the Detroit River that will explore themes provoking contemplation of time while also providing amenities like washrooms, concessions, information and architectural ingenuity," says Dilkens.
He says such spaces become a source of pride for a community.
"The Peace Beacon at the foot of Ouellette Avenue have shown us how our riverfront amenities can be improved without impacting our fantastic view," says Dilkens. "It truly does take version and committed to accomplish what we're talking about."
Dilkens says the historic Streetcar No. 351 is part of the Beacon Project.
"The location is near the Sandwich Heritage area which well also compliment the car's history and where it ran," says Dilkens. "Such spaces become a source of pride for a community, the become a gathering space and the more unique you make them, the more they draw people to explore."
The city also released concept photos and a concept video for the project.
The online survey is available until June 10.
A report will be presented to city council on June 15.
The cost to restore the streetcar was $750,000, however the cost for the entire project has not been released.
Construction is expected to begin in early spring 2021.
