The City of Windsor is hoping to score a hole in one to support the 2022 Can-Am Police Fire Games.
It has organized the 2019 Can-Am Golf Series set for June 17, 2019 at Roseland to promote the upcoming games and raise funds.
The games in Windsor, set for July 25-31, 2022, will see 800 participants from law enforcement from police, fire, EMS, corrections and border officers, take part in 34 games over a six day period.
It is going to cost the city $600,000 to host the games and the economic impact is estimated at between $5-million and $10-million.
CEO of Tourism Windsor-Essex Pelee Island Gordon Orr says it's about reminding people, the games are coming.
"We want to make sure that people are aware that this event is happening a few years down the road, this annual reminder will do just that, raise some funds and at the end of the day heighten the awareness of the fact that this event is coming."
There is room for 144 golfers in the June tournament.
The city is also looking for 400 volunteers to help with the games.
