Windsor residents are being reassured that a massive sinkhole in Fraser, Michigan isn't likely to happen here.
It measures 25,000 square feet and developed on Christmas Eve when a sewer pipe burst 55 feet below ground.
The City of Windsor Engineer Mark Winterton calls it a 'worst case scenario' and an example of what can happen if infrastructure is ignored.
"In the City of Windsor, we video camera our sewers," says Winterton. "We have ongoing flushing to make sure they're operating properly and we're going to be implementing a new technology called 'Zoom Camera'. It takes a picture of the sewer and can quickly identify if there's any immediate problem."
Winterton says the new technology can identify little problems before they become big ones.
The sinkhole in Fraser, Michigan impacted 22 homes while 2 have been destroyed.
