With the mixed bag of weather we've been getting the past few days, the City of Windsor is asking residents to check neighbourhood catch basins for snow and ice blockages.
The city's Executive Director of Operations, Dwayne Dawson says staff are keeping an eye on catch basins to make sure the water is flowing properly, but an extra eye from residents would be a big help.
With the recent rain and melting snow, blocked catch basins can lead to surface flooding on streets, potentially causing trouble for drivers.
Residents are encouraged to call 3-1-1 if they see a basin not working properly.
Dawson says city crews will continue salting roadways, but ice can still form quickly as temperatures continue to fluctuate.
