A new pedestrian crossover near Mic Mac Park is now in service.
The city recently activated the crossover on Prince Rd. at Barrymore Ln. after a serious collision involving a four-year-girl and a Transit Windsor bus.
The collision occurred on May 26th and the crossover was approved by city council on June 18th after public outcry and a public with more than 3000 signatures.
Outgoing councillor John Elliott pushed for the crossover.
"I'm glad it was able to be completed," says Elliott. "We're heading into the winter season but certainly for the next spring, summer season it will be right at time for that. Prince Road is just busy. It's really busy at that side and a lot of people that come from the neighbourhood, go into the park now have the safety feature of the pedestrian crosswalk in place."

He says he has tested out the crosswalk.
"Me and my wife we tried it out, was first done and I mean there were some cars coming and as soon as the lights went off automatically they just stopped right on the dime some ways away," says Elliott.
The crossover cost $75,000.
At the time of the collision, four-year-old Lila Jane was rushed to hospital with life threatening injuries.
