The Windsor-Essex County Health Unit is now asking anyone who ate at or ordered takeout from Chuck's Roadhouse on Tecumseh Rd. E. between Friday, July 24 and Saturday, July 25 to monitor themselves for COVID-19 symptoms.
As heard on AM800 on Friday, the health unit began an investigation into the restaurant after it confirmed an employee had tested positive for the virus.
Medical Officer of Health Dr. Wajid Ahmed says the employee in question was wearing a face mask while working and the risk of spreading the virus is very low, but the health unit is still asking customers to take the online COVID-19 Self-Assessment test and monitor themselves for symptoms for 14 days.
Dr. Ahmed says, if any symptoms develop, contact your doctor or head to an assessment centre.
Chuck's Roadhouse has advised the health unit that a thorough cleaning and sanitization has taken place.
