Officials with the Salvation Army in Windsor are getting a bit anxious.
With just five days left to go, the annual Christmas Kettle campaign is well shy of its $320,000 funding raising goal for this year.
Spokesperson Shannon Wise says they also need more volunteers to staff the kettles.
"It is a challenge sometimes, we do have our dedicated and passionate volunteers that come back every year which we appreciate, but we're always looking to have new faces stand out at our kettles," says Wise. "It's really a fun experience as well, you can make it a family tradition and a lot of people look forward to it, so it's a great social experience as well."
There are 16 kettle locations across the area but she says some people would rather give online.
"To make an online donation, you just go to fillthekettle.com, put in your address and the amount that you'd like to donate and wherever your postal code is, that's where the donation goes to," says Wise.
She adds that the kettle campaign does more than just fund Christmas baskets, it also keeps Salvation Army programs, like their food bank, going all year long.
